John Dietz

CEO of Konstruct | Director of Enterprise Cloud Solutions at Civo | Kubefirst Co-founder

I'm an entrepreneur, platform engineering leader, and open source advocate based in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area. My career has been dedicated to making cloud native technologies more accessible and reducing the barriers to Kubernetes adoption.

Current Focus

I lead Konstruct, where we're building the future of platform engineering. Our new flagship product, Konstruct, is a complete platform engineering solution for managing organizations, cloud accounts, GitOps, and infrastructure at enterprise scale—with multi-cloud support coming for Civo, GCP, Azure, and self-hosted deployments.

Kubefirst (2,000+ GitHub stars) remains our beloved open source platform that started it all, and Colony brings the same magic to bare metal data centers.

Simultaneously, I serve as Director of Enterprise Cloud Solutions at Civo, working with Jared on hybrid cloud infrastructure for organizations worldwide.

Background

My entrepreneurial journey began at age 22 when I bootstrapped my first company, Integrity Test Solutions, which I led for 19 years. This experience shaped my approach to building sustainable, customer-focused technology businesses.

I've been at the forefront of Kubernetes adoption since 2017, helping hundreds of companies transition to cloud native architectures. As a co-founding engineer of Kubefirst and Konstruct, I've worked hands-on with the full cloud native stack—ArgoCD, Vault, Terraform, Atlantis, and dozens more tools that power modern platforms.

Mission

Democratize platform engineering. The typical Kubernetes adoption timeline is 18 months. Our mission is to reduce that to a single command.
