A chronological overview of my professional journey from entrepreneur to platform engineering leader.

2024 - Present: Konstruct at Civo​

CEO of Konstruct | Director of Enterprise Cloud Solutions at Civo

Following Civo's acquisition of Kubefirst, I lead Konstruct as CEO while serving as Director of Enterprise Cloud Solutions at Civo. This dual role allows me to continue building platform engineering solutions while contributing to Civo's broader cloud native mission.

Key initiatives:

  • Launched Konstruct Inc. as a distinct entity within the Civo family
  • Introduced Colony for bare metal and data center Kubernetes deployments
  • Expanded the team and product offerings
  • Continued Kubefirst's growth with multi-cloud support

2022 - 2024: The Kubeshop Chapter​

CEO of Kubefirst (Kubeshop)

Kubefirst was acquired by Kubeshop, providing resources to accelerate development and expand the team. During this period:

  • Achieved CNCF landscape inclusion
  • Grew to support multiple cloud providers (AWS, Civo, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Google Cloud)
  • Built out the team with talented engineers
  • Presented at KubeCon NA 2022 in Detroit
  • Established the Kubefirst Live podcast series

2021 - 2022: Kubefirst Genesis​

Co-founder of Kubefirst

Together with Jared Edwards, I founded Kubefirst to solve a problem we had witnessed repeatedly: Kubernetes adoption taking 18 months or longer in enterprise environments.

  • Built the initial platform during nights and weekends
  • Conducted a year-long stealth enterprise pilot
  • Open sourced the project onto the CNCF landscape
  • Acquired by Kubeshop accelerator

2017 - 2021: The Cloud Transformation​

Platform Architect at Gannett / USA Today Network

Led transformative cloud initiatives for one of America's largest media companies:

  • Pioneered public and multiregion private hybrid cloud architecture
  • Designed and implemented cloud abstraction layers
  • Led migration from Windows to Linux infrastructure
  • Transitioned application stack from .NET to Node.js
  • Built platform engineering practices from the ground up

At age 22, I bootstrapped my own software and services company. For 19 years, I built and led this company while simultaneously working in various engineering roles that deepened my technical expertise.
